I have created a share and set rights for my groups. I compare this to other working shares and no probs. However, when I come to access the share from a user account I am denied access due to rights. Have checked account details and security rights but cannot find anything wrong. Any ideas?

What your OS installing in the computer which share file for your group. in the case of Win2k with NTFS format, you should check the sercurity tab for adding your group.
-Sometime, shareing name has prob, I recomend that you access through IP adress. Start=>Run: //IP address

the share is on the W2000 server accessing through XP workstations. Security tag reports full control to group I want to have access but still no access?

I supose that you have an AD there, and your XP joined it. Right?
Check the shares permissions, and check then the NTFS permissions to those shares. Don't forget that deny has maximum priority.
Another problem that you could have it is because the account use for joining your XP to the domain. Try to rejoin it.
