Failed Upgrade on 6509

Hello All,

I am working on a Catalyst 6509 switch with the following modules :
- 1 MSFC2 card with IOS 12.1(4)E1
- 1 48 Ethernet ports 10/100 BT with CatOS 5.1.1

Recently i have tried to upgrade it to CatOS 6.1.3 with file "cat6000-sup_6-1-3.bin". When i reloaded the switch i got the following error message:

"Error:Line card download failed, module resetting...
Download failed for module 1"

The switch didn't go further.


Can someone help me?

Did you reboot the switch already?

What about the failsafe-mechanism? Can you access the rommon? If so, use a TFTP server to load the old firmware (hope you made a backup).

If this doesn't work: There should be a flash-module build-in the switch (like a little DIMM-module, just with flash on it). You could try to erase it in a working switch. The switch should then reload into rommon.
