hello

I am using Groupshield 5.2 with Exchange Server 2000.
I configured Groupshield to send me a email if there is an Alert.
Now, since about two weeks I don't get any emails, even if there is a virus or an other alert.

In the logfile I found this: "Failed to submit the alert message." (..\AVExch32.exe)

Any ideas??

Thanks for your help.

Check the Alert Manager if it's still running. AVChap
... take my advice, I don't use it anyway!

I get a popup Alert message on the server but no email.

How can I see, if the Alert Manager is running?

Thanks

We've seen the same problem. I've seen elsewhere that someone installed the W2K pre-SP4 hotfix (Q327696) and experienced the same problem. We've just recently installed that hotfix too, however, along with many other hotfixes, and now have the same problem. Has anyone found an answer to this one yet?

Try getting GroupShield to send alerts as HTML. This should fix this.

How do you change Alert Manager to send in HTML? (sorry for dumb question but can't find it...)

I will try to explain you:
Go to the administration Console(mmc) of GroupShield Exchange. Then open the properties on the Configuration, there you go the the administration Tab and on the right bottom you have to enable "use HTML notification messages"

I hope it helps you.

Argh!... knew it was simple, but missed that little check box at the bottom there... thanks!

this is resolved with hotfix2 and or servicepack1 for groupshield

if you do what I suggested it is not my fault...
