Hello Tek-Tips World!

I have a customer with Centralized voicemail and two IP Office locations. From the voicemail server I am no longer able to save a configuration to the remote site. Prior to performing a feature key swap, I could not save any changes from a PC local to the subnet either. After performing a feature key swap, I can now make changes on the local subnet, but not from the voicemail server. I am able to open a configuration and pull all data, voicemail works flawlessly, and even Xima is tracking all calls for the remote site successfully. However, I am still not able to save configuration data such as a name change. These are new IP 500v2 control units on version 8.1(79). Has anyone else seen this issue?

Thank you!

does manager open up for the remote site?

Thank you for the response Joe. Yes, Manager opens and will allow me to completely pull a configuration. Only when I attempt to make a change and merge it back do I have any issue at all.

Sure your remote system is not running secondary software? (Meaning the flash memory of the IPO).

Look in SSA, alarms...

Kind regards

Gunnar

what exactly is happening when you try to do a merge?

No secondary software, Manager would have shown that when opening a configuration as well.

Joe,

When attempting to perform a merge, the bottom left of Manager shows Sent 10% of "Configuration Name" and never goes past there. After about 60-120 seconds, a popup comes up and says "Failed to save configuration data." (Error Code -2)

do a ping test and see if it answers properly and that there is not a second device on the network with the same IP address

Hey Westi,

This all checks out. The customer has not made any complaints about voicemail and Xima not working which would certainly peak their head if there was an IP address conflict.

maybe a reboot may be in order here, from system status; are you able to do a reboot of the remote system?

Yes sir we can and we have done reboots as well as replace the SD card entirely.

If you are on site at the remote location I assume you can save the config correct? if yes then it seems you have some sort of network issue between the two sites as you have already replaced the sd card as stated.

Try this:

Open manager and go to "file" -> "Preferences"
Then go to "Security" and select "Secure Communications" and set it to none.
Then try it again.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Peter,

I like where your heads at, but the issue persists. [evil]

Grossman, couple of things came to my mind:

- Try restarting the VMPro service (yeah, sounds ridiculous).
- Running any DNS service on the VMPro server? (If so, stop it).
- Any DNS entries on the IPO, try removing them with the local PC.
- Are you accessing the VMPro with RDP? If another RDP session is running Manager you can get this error.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Gunnaro,

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

- Try restarting the VMPro service (yeah, sounds ridiculous). - Tried this to no avail.
- Running any DNS service on the VMPro server? (If so, stop it). - The only DNS service that was running is DNS Client. I disabled this and the issue persists.
- Any DNS entries on the IPO, try removing them with the local PC. - The DNS servers are not set on the IPO.
- Are you accessing the VMPro with RDP? If another RDP session is running Manager you can get this error. - We are using Logmein (console essentially) to access the server and no one is logged in via RDP.

Well, it was worth a shot...And this might seem a bit too obvious, but Manager on the server is the same (or higher) release as the IPO? "Version 10.1 (79)"

Kind regards

Gunnar

must be because he stated that he can open up a config but just can not save it

Smokey> You can open IPO R8.1.85 with a Manager Version 10.1 (81) (and even save, but not recommended).

Kind regards
