Failed to connect to client computer Authentication failed."

I receive this error after running a client connectivity test. My jobs for this client are also pending stating "Waiting for the services on the client [ivi-10010760] to come online." eventhough the service for that client is running...weird.

In the events view i see this Minor Severity error:
"Failed to start phase [System State Backup] on [servername.xxx.xxx] due to network error [150994982]. Will attempt to restart. Please check if this product's services are running on the remote host."

I cant seem to figure out where exactly to start.

First things i would check are:
can the commserver resolve and ping the client and mediaagent
can the client resolve and ping the commserve and mediaagent
and can the media agent resolve and ping the commserve and client
check cvipinfo on all the clients from the resource pack
If all of this is ok try restarting the commseve services.
