Factory Reset Avaya IP 9608 Deskphone 2

Hello,

I have an Avaya 9608 IP Deskphone.
During the boot, don't write * to Program (like usually),
but only Program.

If I can't push Program button....it search on HTTP server (not in my PBX).....(blocked)

If I push Program button under the display.....

then says "Enter command".....

Now with any command that I enter.....
9608 phone always reboot ....

I tried "Enter Command" with:
MUTE CRAFT(27238) #
* CRAFT(27238) #
CRAFT(27238)
# without password
RESET(73738)
MUTE RESET #
* RESET #

I can not configure it.....

It's an Avaya 9608 IP used phone.

Is there any Superuser password?
Is there keys sequence to press during boot to enter setup?

Provide a default 46xxsettings.txt from a http server that the phone is asking for.
You will see a request with wireshark.
Then setup a http server with that IP address and than the phone will pull the 46xxsettings.txt file and you should be able to enter the craft menu again.

Unfortunately I can't read all link HTTP server, because display show only first part...
for example http:\\26.1.150.12\sog......... truncated
This phone I have buy used online, and so that address was for another server...

That happens when you buy stuff second hand.
But use a switch, a pc and install wireshark.
Connect both the phone and the pc and let wireshark make a log.
When the phone asks for the 46xxsettings.txt file (and probably some other files too) than you should see the IP address where it is looking for.
Then you need to provide a http server with both this default 46xxsettings.txt file and the IP address the phone is looking for.
If you cannot do this then i suggest to hire somebody who can do this for you.

I understand for switch and pc connection, but I'm sorry what is wireshark?
Is it a software to install?

Hi alex.

Wireshark is a free program that allows you, with your computer, to view information transactions that occur between ip items.

If you do a google search, you should find it no problem.

Then install it on the computer you will be attaching to the switch, configure it (you may have to do some reading) and watch for the information above. You can log it for easier viewing... or in my case doing a "find" with your word processor of choice.
