I have been informed that a customer is getting 3,000 new DID numbers (720-xxxx). In trying to add them to the dial plan I see that 72 is the FAC for IMMEDIATE ACCESS CODE in the (it is an Multi-level Precedence and Preemption (MLPP) environment). Since 72 is seen as a FAC first, I can't add the 720-xxxx to the dial plan. I can't change the 72 FAC because it's been in place since the dawn of time.

CM 4.1
7-digit extension numbers

Thanks, in advance, for any advice/information.

You can edit the incoming call treatment for your DID trunk group to strip the "72" and insert two other digits you choose, that fit into your dialplan. That creates the issue the phone extension doesn't match the external dial number but that's the price paid for not checking the dial plan first.

What length extensions are you using at the site?

Thanks for the replies.

@Surakmn, that's what I kind of suspected but didn't want to hear, if you know what I mean. That way people need to remember that there are 2 different numbers (internal/external) for the audio bridge. Like you said, though, that's the cost of not consulting with the phone guy (me) before ordering them.

@Tolson, we are using 7-digit extensions.
