I am trying to update a script file for a client using an old DOS version of Procomm. The are automating a large number of processes and due to a software upgrade need to update a script that has been around for 10 years. This is only going to be used for the next 3-6 months which is why we would like to avoid rewriting this process. I can not get the script to send F10 on a screen that requires that response. The device type is ANSI. Anyone have an idea???

Thanks!

I don't think you can specify that the contents of the F10 key be sent in the DOS version, but there is a workaround that you can use. Press Alt-F8 to bring up the keyboard map and switch to the ANSI emulation, if necessary. Write down what the current setting for the F10 key is, then use transmit "F10" in your script, where F10 is replaced by the contents of the F10 key in the key mapper. aspect@aspectscripting.com

Thanks but I tried that. I tried to Transmit the ^[Op that is in the ANSI keymap to no avail. I even tried to set up a variable to write the escape character, but no luck. Funny thing is the ansi definition keymap has ^[Op as F10 and F9 definitions.

F10 does not work by hand keying either.

OK, so it sounds like Procomm isn't configured to use the escape sequence that the remote system is expecting for F10. Do they have someone (sysadmin, etc.) that does know the correct mapping for the F10 key? aspect@aspectscripting.com
