Hello,

We have some new IP 2004's that we are trying to connect to our ITG card. Previously, it would connect, download a new firmaware, reboot and be fine. With the new phones, it just cycles. It keeps saying downloading firmware and then it will reboot and start all over.
This same phone will connect just fine to our CS1000. I'm at a loss. Any idea's??

Thank You,

Doug

The firmware on the phone may already be current. What is the firmware on the card versus the phone set?

The phone is continueing to cycle. The firmware is currently the most current however the firmware available on the ITG card is several revisions old. We no longer use an outside vendor for phones, so I would love to find a procedure for putting the most cureent f/w out there on the ITG card instead of the normail "ask your vendor".

Thank You,

Doug

sending the current firmware to an ITG card depends on your release and application set-up.
In other words, if your ITG card is in an legacy Meridian, then you can either send the firmware to the ITG via OTM or via a faceplate compact flash card.
If your ITG card is in a CS1000, then you can use Element Manager (on your signaling server) to deliver firmware to the card or, again, via a faceplate compact flash card.
Although, if you have the latter set-up, you'd be better off using Element Manager - You're more apt to get the same version of firmware to all cards.
Moreover, if you have CS1000, you're not registering to the ITG.
What version is your PBX, and OTM?

The PBX is on 25.40 OTm I am not sure of. The CS1000 is at a different location than the Option 11 25.40. I figured out how to upload the firmware using OTM. Now I just need to figure out how to get the firmware of off of the CS1000.

You need to download the firmware from Nortel and save it to a PCMCIA card. Then you insert it into the slot on the front of the card and issue the upgrade Xa command from the command line.

After the firmware is upgraded to the latest revision, then you can install the latest loadware (IP Line or IP trunk as necessary).

I don't think you can upgrade the card firmware from OTM.
