My squadron just moved hangars and the telephone contractors moved our merlin system to out new hangar. All the exts are working, but the problem I have now is some exts ring a very short ring on the outside line (70 Pool -I) every time a call comes in. I set up a *40 (coverage) on one of those exts, and it did it on my phone also, so something changed on the ext config. I'm pretty sure I did it, because today two extz I reset started to also do it. Any ideas? Thanks, Allen

Do you have an Immediate answer voicemail. If you do It will ring into the voice mail and the Immedeate ring extentions at the same time because the VM has to hear the ting to answer it.

IF that is the case Go the the Phones that have the immediate ring and change them to delayed

at the phone press the following:
[FEATURE] [0] [0]
press any SA button
[*] [3] [4] [6]
[FEATURE] [0] [0]

Thanks Don, This fix did work on my 4412d+ exts, but with phones that have the 4406D+ (Smaller phones), and I can not get those exts to change.

Is it possible to change all exts to Default form the SA console phone? Thanks in advance, Allen

After I *346 the exts on the 4412D+ phones, it changes the outgoing line to 70 Pool - D. Some of the other phones that are working great say 70 pool -N. If I = Immediate, and D = Delayed, what does "N" mean? How can I get back to "N"?

N is for No Ring

If you have delayed and it works it is useful just incase your voice mail fails you will still hear incoming calls after 3 rings though

but do this for ALL LINES NO RING

at the phone press the following:
[FEATURE] [0] [0]
press any SA button
[*] [3] [4] [5]
[FEATURE] [0] [0]

You change them from the console using Centralized programming.

Thanks Don, I ended up having to use *35, *36 and *37 on the lines ringing, and every one is happy. Now I just need to learn why I can't get on mail box to work for a new ext and I'll be in there.

Doc,
To get an extension to transfer to a voicemail box you must go into the messenger as the administrator. Then press 9 to access the advanced options. Press 2 to administer extensions and enter the extension number with no mailbox. Then create a mailbox by following the prompts. If there is a mailbox and it is still not working press *3 to delete it and create a new one. This should fix it.
