Extrenal Mail not going through

Hi All,

Everytime a user goes to send mail the mail gets stuck in the queue. It says (remote delivery) and in the status, it says retry. It just sits there. What the heck am I doing wrong?? Thanks for the help.
 
Make sure the server can resolve the domain names. You can look in message tracker or the log to get better details on why the message is set to retry. You can also set the retry time or force connection, so when you make changes you don't have to wait and see if it fixed it.
 
I guess this is not the problem with DNS, I am also facing the same problem. My server is behind the firewall and when I allow mail server for all traffic to outside world it works fine, but when I restrict only to the external mail hub to forward mail to sendmail box, the mail gets stucked there.
