I'm using BENT 8.0 on WinNT 4 SP6a.
Across the network I backup my Lotus Notes Databases, with the help of the Lotus Notes Agent. I Have the agent Accelerator and it's running.

My problem is that I'm getting 3.5MB/Min where last week I was getting 633MB/Min. All I've done in the interim is change the Administrator password, but I've changed all that I need to change within BE, like I've countless times in the past.

I'm really stuck here and any help that I can get will be appreciated.

We are having the same problem. !! WHenb we included exchange cluster to our backup job we reduced our speed from 300 mb/minute to 20 m/bit per minute. We need help too.

Any ideas??

I fixed my problem over the weekend.
My Cisco switches were just becoming a bit tired.
Hence my network was slowing, and with it the backup.

What I did was:
I shut down my all servers, then pulled the plug on all my switches.
Then restarted the switches, and then the servers starting with the PDC.

I hope this helps you as it did me.

We have a Cisco switched environment, too, but there is no problem with the switches. 5 of 6 servers are backing up at normal speed, with only one slow backup. We solved the problem with the following steps:

De-install from the control panel the remote agent.
Delete the HKEY_LOCALMACHHINE/SOFTWARE/VERITAS/REMOTEAGENT key from the registry
Delete the directory in which remote agent resides, and all files.
Reboot
Reinstall the agent.
If you have an NT4.0 server, the agent is not the same as for Win2000. For NT4.0, Go to DOS prompt. Change directory on the CD drive to WINNT\INSTALL\ENG\I386\NTAA
Run setupaa.cmd
reboot.
Hope this helps.
