here is the scenario... I have a network with an ISA server as a firewall / Web filter. I am installing a 24 port Extreme Summit and would like to VLAN the servers from the workstations. So far i have created a vlan named servers gave it an IP address of 172.17.1.4 /24 and enabled ipfowarding. i gave it a default Gateway of 172.17.1.113 (This is the ISA server) and the other servers are currently running on the same network 172.17.1.x. (This will hopefully change). As soon as I change my gatway to the switch, nothing works. I am able to ping 172.17.1.4 and 172.17.1.113 and the switch can ping everything, but I still cannot get to the internet and when i look at the logs in the ISA server, it's like it never even gets there. Also i was wondering why when enabling tagging on these ports I loose connection to everything??

Anyone have any suggestions to move foward with?

You need to configure a default route on the switch if you are making it the servers default gateway.

config ipr add default <etc.>
