Hi all! I'm not sure if I'm in the right place for this, so please direct me if necessary. I am very new to using Oracle - I've created a few very basic, simple views with the help of our DBA, but now I need to branch out and need some resources.

I've created a report using Crystal Reports that needs some intervention by a view. I now need to transfer the formulas I've created in Crystal to PL/SQL (I'm using a program called PLEdit32 in order to produce the views). Is there a fairly comprehensive list floating around, maybe on the web, that would show the functions/operators (Crystal terminology - not sure if it's right for Oracle) usable in PL/SQL and their syntax? This would give me a great head start into the great unknown!! :)

Thanks in advance!

I'm in the same boat as you. I have created a bunch of Crystal Reports and have been looking for the past two weeks on how to integrate them into an Oracle Web Application with PL/SQL.

If you come up with anything please let me know...I've hit a dead end.

Thank you so much Namornyi for the link!! I've come across a few articles like this in my search to find out more about building views - my struggle is to pull out the info I need in regard to view creation. Because I have a limited knowledge and will probably never use PL/SQL to build programs and the like, it's difficult to pinpoint what applies to me amid all the great info. I've started to grasp a few of the basics - listing fields from several tables and joining those tables - now I need to take it a step further from just returning data to actually doing something with the data before it's returned.

As I get into it, I'll definitely post here to get help on issues as they come up!!

Thanks again!

Most likely you need info not on PL/SQL, but just on SQL. Search the Net for SQL syntax, or ANSI SQL.
