I'm relatively new to 123 and have had a steep learning curve from Excel.

I have a spreadsheet containing sales opportunities for a number of salesmen. I want to extract from that the top 5 opportunities or the top opportunities that make up 80% of the total value of the opportunities.

I also need to extract from a column of labels, all the unique values. So if I have the list:

Bill
Bill
Dave
Bill
Dave
Mike

I want to get the values:

Bill
Dave
Mike

I haven't any experience using the macro or scripting language but I'm willing to give it a try.

Thanks in advance for any help,

James

The cleanest way is to use Queries.
Show only unique records an limit the output range to 5 rows.
Read up on queries in the help file - there isn't room here for a training spiel

Unfortunately I can not translate exactly from german to english, however there are
two functions in Lotus which could help you.
I will try to translate them:

German English
-------------- ----------------------------------
@zaehlenwenn(.... @countwhen(.... or similiar expression
this function counts the number of cells which meets a certain condition

@summewenn(... @sumwhen(......or similiar expression
this function adds the values which meets a certain condition
e.g. sales figures done by sales people in your example.

Look at the help for these functions, combine them - there are examples in
the help for using these functions.

HTH
Regards from Germany

Klaus
