I have created a 2002 calendar of events in MS Word. Is there a way to extract the dates and events I have added into a text file?

Text file example:

JAN
1 Event
2 Event
3
4 Event 1
Event 2
5
(etc.....)

Thank you!

The Word calendar wizard does nothing more than create a table layout based on the month/year you choose to create. It is nothing more than text, basically, and won't provide any database-type format that Excel could use.

You would probably be better off typing your events directly into Excel, with the following columns:

Month--Day--Time--Event--Comments

Then, you can easily sort by the events, or in date order, view just one month's worth (Data-autofilter), etc. Brainbench MVP for Microsoft Word
