Hi

We currently have 2 M2250 consoles connected to our Meridian opt 11.

I have been asked to install a 3rd console although it is likely that only 2 would ever be in use at one time.

I'm not sure how to go about this - any help much appreciated.

You build the Attendant Consoles in LD 12. Each console requires a 25 pr. cable. They also require a total of 5 TN's on a digital line card. 2 TN's are for the console operation and 3 TN's are for power. Just be careful when you are wiring the power TN's because you can smoke the console. The R/O of the 25 pr gets 2 tips and the R/G of the 25 pr. gets 2 rings of the TN. I believe the W/SL power TN wires straight. The consoles should be programmed identical with the exception of the ANUM prompt.

You already have some working consoles so just copy the wiring for those. I only ever use two power tns and have seen some consoles wired with one in series. I never liked wiring with one so I would correct those when I came across them.

Lots of controversy on wiring a console as far as how many power tn's to use. Some use 2, some use 3, some dont use any. Some dont even use a 25 pr. cable. But if you do it by the NTP you are sure to be successful. One other thing to keep in mind is if you use night mode all consoles have to be in night mode. If they arent all in night mode the will show "position busy". I believe you can do "shift" plus night mode from one console and that will put them all in nights.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the advice.

Our existing consoles only seem to have 2 tn's connected and no other cables? So I will probably cable the extra one the same way.

So I presume that I can just build 2 new tn's and configure using LD12?
Hopefully I should have time to have a go at this tomorrow
