I have a customer that has two remote sites with ip phones. they have vpn network in between. They want to put a ringer at these two sites. What should I use to get and analog ringer working at these remote sites. Remote sites have ip phone going over a VPN to main site.

The PoE Algo 8180 SIP Audio Alerter can register to IPO as a Ring extension, and play an associated WAV file of your choice. This 8W speaker is typically 8x louder than a standard ringing telephone, and can be configured with the optional 1186 Horn Speaker for additional volume. Alternatively, the 8180 can also be configured as Master/Slave to scale many speakers over large areas using an auto-multicast feature. If voice paging is required, a second extension is available in the 8180 that will auto-answer when called. For additional information visit

And if you want a down and dirty solution, AND you plan to never use the speakerphone, simply wire a loudspeaker to the internal speaker of the telephone. Whatever comes out of telephone speaker would come out of loudspeaker.
