Hello,
I have a Norstar ICS 7.0 and i've been trying to set up external page and an aux ringer all morning and cant seem to get it working. What are the wiring pairs or whatever that need to be termed? They are just loudspeakers from RadioShack, nothing fancy.
Thanks in advance,
Bryson

Paging is on the 2nd 25pair blk/slt slt/blk. Aux is also on the 2nd 25pair on the yel/brn brn/yel.

the cable pinouts for MICS can be found at: faq799-4221

FYI the output of a MICS is not enough to drive speakers on its own, you need to connect the output to the input of an amplifier or other telephone interface device. you only get 100mV with 600 ohms of impedeance

The Aux Ringer is just a contact closure. If you need ring generated on that, you'll have to pick up a ring generator. We usually use Valcom or Viking.

Ok thank everyone for the help. Makes more since now!
So what exactly do I need to get to get them going?
I'm kinda new to this part of the phone system.
Thanks,
b

I suggest you do it right and get and amp and proper horns.

Suggest the TPU15 for just a couple horns
These amps have aux ringer built in so you can wire up the page port and the aux port from the KSU to the amp.

and a couple SPT15 horns:
They use one pair connected to the 70volt and common terminals on the amp.

It's about $300 Canadian which is about.....$300 US.

Follow Jerry's pinouts.

another alternative that is around $100US is Viking electronics PA-2a a small pa horn and amplifier that can drive up to 3 8 ohm speakers.
I end up using this series a fair ammount mainly because for small offices it is much more affordable

jerryreeve,
as I read the specs on the PA-2a does it combine the AUX ringer and Page into one horn?

Yes the page is on the trunk/page input and the aux ring contacts connect to the dry contacts input
