External Jetdirect not recognizing printer 1

I've got an ew2400 wireless Jetdirect port which doesn't seem to recognize the USB port on an HP Laserjet P3005dn printer. When I connect the printer via USB to my computer, it recognizes it with no problem. And, when I connect another printer (HP Laserjet 5200) to the Jetdirect, it sees it within 30 seconds.

This makes me think that the USB ports on both devices work fine, just not with each other. I've updated the firmware on the Jetdirect and on the printer. I'd certainly appreciate any suggestions to get this to work!

Getting HP USB print servers to recognise some printers, even HPs, can be tricky.

Is the HP Laserjet P3005dn printer listed as one recognised by the ew2400?

Does the HP Laserjet P3005dn have its own embedded print server which may need to be disabled to ensure it defaults to the USB port?

Have you got an IP address for the ew2400?
Can you access it via "telnet <IP address>" in a DOS window?

Does the HP Laserjet P3005dn print a Configuration Page?

Thanks SlimJohn for the response.

It turns out that we didn't have the most recent firmware for the print server like we thought we did! After loading the most recent firmware, the ew2400 was able to recognize the P3005dn. Sadly, it all came down to user error on my part. It took nearly a week to realize this, but I'm glad it is resolved!
