Hello,

I Need some help. I have a external hard drive using USB 2.0 to connect. And it stopped working on my desktop. I have tried on two other laptops and the hard drive appears and works. On the desktop
I can see the drive in device manager but when I go into my computer the drive does not show up. I have tried to put the hard drive on different USB ports I have 6 an nothing seems to fix this problem. I have uninstalled drivers and reinstalled and nothing. On device manager I have Oaztor 6".... that shows up as the device. How do I get the drive to work again on my desktop?

Must be 98 as he is installing drivers where xp will install them on its own?
Still, its important to tell us what os.
You could try re-formatting the hard drive from one of the laptops, but again we would need to know the os. If the laptop formats the h drive as NTFS then it wont work in a win 98 machine. So both the desktop and the laptop must be running the same os.

Sorry I should have put that information. I am using windows XP home edition. The strange thing is that my hard drive is the only thing that does not appear properly. If I put other things in the USB ports they do show up. And again the hard drive does show up on two different laptops running on XP as well.

well, if running xp then you shouldnt need drivers?
Anyway, how about my suggestion of reformatting as above?
Its done the job for me when i had a similar problem.
