I currently have external forwarding working on three phones with DID's. Can I program a DID to external forward without having a phone connected. I realize there won't be a forward button to push without a phone but I didn't know if I could forward that DID to an external number through WinSPM. Thanks in advance!

Point the DID to an unused adjunct extention number. Then set up the adjunct to remote forward to whatever number you want. Authorize the adjunct for remote forward and trunk to trunk transfer.

Then, give the adjunct an authorization code - use it's own extention number as the code.

Then, from any phone press an SA button, dial #80 (enter the authorization code) # *33 9 (enter the phone number for forwarding) and press # at the end of the sequence.

You should be all set. To test the forwarding - intercom the adjunct extention set up as above - it should forward automatically to the number.

I have been looking through documentation without any luck on how to do the following

1.Where do I go in programming to point the DID to the unused extension?
2. How do I set up this unused extension (through programming) to forward externally without a forward button?

Other than that I think I've got it.

Thanks!

Is there a way to take this string
#80(auth. code)# *33 9 XXX-XXXX# and put it into a programmed button? I cannot get past #80 without getting a program error.

BasicErik, where are you trying to enter the "#80" string?

You can only enter the string from an SA key or Intercom key.

You can't do it in programming via SPM or the Remote Access feature!

Hope this helps!

If all the DID #'s match the extension numbers how can I re-direct a DID to another extension number?

Example 1:
DID - 456-3875
Extension - 3875

Example 2:
DID - 456-3875
Extension - 5600

Can example 2 be accomplished? If so how? Thanks!

Depends on whether the DID is via T1 PRI - or just an analog DID trunk. If an analog DID - you cannot change it. If it is comming via T1 PRI - you can make the incomming DID number go anywhere you want.

Your instructions worked perfectly! I used an adjunct number with the extension related to the DID.

Thanks for all the help!

I have multiple extensions programmed for external call forward.
For example:
2427 - Inter building extension with a phone connected. (works great!)
2450 - Has no phone connected.
When the operators extensions (I havn't tested with any other extensions) receive a call and try to transfer it to 2450 the operators phone on the display says "Announce To:" and it won't tranfer to an extension without a phone. Is this because I did not enable trunk to trunk transfer on these extensions?

Thanks!

No, it's because the transfer is taking place on a SA-VOICE button, instead of a SA-Ring or SA-Outgoing button.

When I press transfer it defaults to an SA Voice button which is the way it should be for internal calls. If I press transfer then SA Ring it dropss the transfer process. Then I have to press the line, press transfer and try again.

Any suggestions?
Ryan
