External forward used to work, doesn't anymore

On an IP Office 406 running 3.1(65) I had forwarding to external #'s working fine (allowed outgoing transfer is checked off). We since upgraded to VMPro, changing nothing else and calls are no longer fowarding out, but here's the odd thing...If you dial the 4 digit extension, or the corresponding DID from an internal phone, it *does* forward out correctly.

Any phone external to the system, it just stays inside and the call goes to the IP Office Voicemail. Anyone ever seen anything like this? I confirmed this is how it's behaving by watching the call status.

Thanks,
Larry

If you are using a User to do the forwarding, make sure you have Forward Hunt Group Call enabled for that user.

Thanks for the reply... It's actually set up as an unconditional forward so no intervention exists. The troubling thing is that it did work and just stopped... I've rebooted the switch, messed with the settings by disabling, re-enabling and merging config back in.

Problem is resolved (sort of)...the phone is actually forwarding correctly, which wasn't able to be determined due to being off site, and some poor testing on my part... Also, the fact that it was jumping back to the voicemail on the source IP Office led me to believe that it was never forwarding. Now if I can only make it leave the voicemail at the place it's forwarded to instead of jumping back to the home system...

You'll have to manipulate the allocated answer interval to about 40 seconds or so and test it to see if its enough time for the voicemail on the far end to pick up instead of the IPO voicemail.

I have the same problem in the 406V2 4.0. What I did was use Voicemail Pro to do my forwarding, not a user and that worked great.

I ran into the same problem. To fix it, I put in a leave action in voicemail pro and gave callers the option to forward to a cell phone or go to voicemail. This worked well for the customer.
