Hi

We have IMS works fine however i am unable to get an external alert.

1. Ims is in a domain enviroment with exchange 2000 and works fine.
2. The Vmpro SMTP in control panel has been setup to look with the exchange server port 25 using the email account used for the voicemail

3. The Users voicemail tab onthe IPO has the external address in the voicemail field with alert checked.
4. The vm pc and client pc can send emails to the extermal address

Any advise will be appriciated

You shouldn't use IMS and VM>email alerts together and I'm not supprised it doesn't work.

Give users external access to thier email to pick up the IMS messages if they want it.

Sorry Jamie77 i beg to differ :-

I have just fixed it , if someone leaves me voicemail even with IMS at the office i get an email alert to my mobile phone.

The problem turned out to be on our exchange server blocking mail to orange from the Vmpro PC.

Great Stuff

That told me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-(

I was told by Avaya Tier 3 last summer when we had a major VM/IMS problem to not use it this way.

I stand corrected.

But i would agree with you, the docs suggest you should turn vm to email settings off too.

I think that is a misintepretation though, they tell you to turn it off just because IMS does not use those settings, you can still have both.

I agree with Jamie77, I also had a problem when a customer had IMS and then enabled basic voice to email. Everything got screwed up. When I went to technical support, I was told that they should not be used together. When I asked why, I wasnt givin any specifics other than Tier4 engineers were telling tier3 techs this.

I'm glad it's not just me going mad!!!!!!
