External Drag and Drop Events

Greetings all,

I am trying to figure out how to accept external (to the application) drag and drop events without much luck. What I'm trying to do is let the user drag an image such as a jpeg or gif into a specified region of the application. Then capture the object's properties such as size, location, etc.

Any suggestions?
