I have a Small Office Edition at my Home office. I have 1 line in it right now and that line has Call Waiting from my provider on it. Can the IP Office handle this? What am I missing trying to answer calls coming in over Call Waiting?

Setup:

IP Office Small Office Ed. s/w 4.0 (7)
1 Analog Phone (Cordless) on Port 1
Calls come in to Hunt Group 200 and go to the extension (100 - 108)
Extension is set-up as an Analog device, Standard Telephone

Everything else work great

When a call comes in over Call Waiting (from Comcast), I hear the tone and see the caller ID info on the phone. When I click Flash, I get a busy signal. I can click flash again and I go back to the 1st call.

I have tried turning Call Waiting On & Off in the user assigned to Ext. 100 with no luck.

Is what I am trying to do possible?
Can you send the flash to the POTS Line?

Any help would be appreciated.

There are special features for this as seperate shortcodes:
Flash Hook
This feature sends a hook flash signal to the currently connected line if it is an analog line.

Telephone Number: Pre-IP Office 4.0/ IP Office 4.0+: Optional
For IP Office 4.0 and higher, the telephone number field can be used to set the transfer destination number for a Centrex Transfer. In this case the use of the short code Forced Account Code and Forced Authorization Code are not supported and the Line Group Id must match the outgoing line to the Centrex service provider.

Default Short Code: none

Phone Manager Control: none

SoftConsole Control: none

Programmable Button Control: Flash

IP Office Software Level: 2.1 , 3.0DT , 3.0 , 3.1 , 3.2 , 4.0.

Example
Below is a sample short code using the Flash Hook feature.

Short Code: *96

Feature: FlashHook

If you have a shortcode for it and you get a second call then press the flash key and the shortcode to answer the second call.

I can't seem to get this to work. I have set this up according to the notes listed here (and in the help menu). I answer a call, using my analog phone (Cordless), and another call comes in via call waiting from my provider. I press the Flash button on the cordless and I get a broken dial tone. I then try the shortcode I setup, *99. All I get is a tone from the phone system. It does not seem to send the Hook Flash to Line 1.

I have setup my IP Phone (4621SW) with a Hook Flash button and I can answer the call waiting call, but I can't get the cordless phone to work correctly.

Anyone else have this working? I feel like I am missing something simple.

Thanks,

Tom O'

I not sure, but I don't think you will get it to work on an analog telephone extension.

Disable the feature "Answer Call Waiting on Hold (Analog)" which can be found in the users telephony settings.
