what level of CICS/MICS software is required to be able to do an link/transfer on a line (assuming the line supports the feature), to an external number? Is it the ksu that allows that, or do I need a Callpilot as well, and if so, what software level is needed. The application is....after a call has rung 3 times at reception, they would like to send the call to a cell phone.

Link Transfer = Carrier feature
-When on call press Link or F71, dial destination number.

External Transfer = Norstar feature
-You forward a set using F4 to an external number.
--Requires 4.1 software or higher
--you must set lines to supervised
--allow set to use Redirect

I know BCM you can FNA to an external # but do not think CICS or MICS can.

Work around....
Forward Courtesy or spare set to external number with F4
FNA reception to the courtesy set.

Con
-When call is transferred off site it will not go into general mail box, instead mailbox of mobile user

Can you tell what software is on the KSU with an SP #......SP 30DHC12 ?

The MICS and CICS can do external call transfer at R4.1 or higher. You have to setup a separate destination code and route in order to make it work. For example, you program destination code 8 to use route 001 and route 001 uses pool A. Give the set wanting to external call forward access to pool A. To external call forward you then dial Feature 4-8-phone number. Of course there must be lines available in pool A in order to complete the transfer.

I don't remember if it's CICS or MICS, but one of them has a LINK at CO setting. Default is no.

The customer wants to use the A/A to initiate the external call forward after having offered the caller some choices through the CCR programming.....any ideas as to what version Voice Mail system and software level will allow this to happen with a 7.1 KSU software?
