I been using this guide to setup call forwarding.

I'm trying to setup a user to forward calls to his cell phone. I set the COS to allow Call Fwd-All Calls and Extended Forwarding All. Restrict Call Fwd-Off Net is set to NO.

I put the user in this new COS and added a send all calls and a call fwd buttons. The admin screen shows EXT next to both buttons. If I try to enter an external number it only allows 7 digits. They need 10 digits. What am I missing?

That would be for inside calls not for outside the system. You can either let them use the call forwarding FAC's or set them up with a remote coverage path. The coverage remote would be a push one button setup and their calls go to their cell. "Ch cov rem 1"

Do the coverage paths require a license?

Tried a coverage path but still only allows 7 digits. Really odd. Thanks anyways.

when I do 'display coverage' I have the option to look at remote. When I do 'add coverage' remote isn't an option. Do I need to do something before hand? What is VDN?

Thank you

The command is "ch cov rem 1" Make you entries and build up the remote number(s). Don't forget to add 9 or whatever your ARS code is to access outside lines.

In your coverage path use the remote r? on the coverage path form.

Finally got it. Thanks for the guide Mike. Now that I have the coverage path can I setup a 'go to coverage button' and allow the user to turn on and off?

The call forwarding is activated in your system?, verify wich is the fac to enable this feature, type display feature-access-codes and look for the Call forwarding Activation Busy/DA: All field, in my system is *2 an #2 to quit the call forwarding. Verify that the COS that you are using enable this forwarding, and don't forget to add the cell number in the ars. For example, the user dials *2 6 + complete cell number, the *2 is de FAC to the call forwarding, and the 6 is the ARS acces code

All you need to do is set the coverage path (the original one) and set SAC to "no". Have your next linkage path set to yes on SAC activation. The user depresses SAC and away they go..
