Hi,

Do I need to have a phyisical phone connected to have calls that come in to an extension forwarded to an external number? When I to PRT in LD20, it shows the number set to forward but when I dial the extension it goes to the regular voice mail. Any ideas? Thank you.

No physical phone has to be connected (if enabled).
It goes to the 'regular voicemail' of a cell phone?
Posting the TN will help solving this

Hi Utreg,

Thanks for the quick response. I have programmed TN 38 3 with the extension and programmed it to forward to a cell phone, but instead of going to the cell phone it is going to the regular meridian voicemail for that extension.
The TN shows CFXA in the CLS and the following
16 MWK 6363
17 TRN
18 A06
19 CFW 31 9011441111111111 (i just puts ones)

Prt the entire TNB. It is the CLS section we are generally after, but its helpful to see the entire print.

You may have a NCOS issue. Raise your NCOS and try CLS UNR for testing.

Your FDN and HUNT are set to 6363 so if the phone is not physically call forwarded then calls to this extension will go to 6363.

If you want to have calls to this extension always forward to the external number, you could create a new ACD DN in LD 23 with the NCFW to the external number. This would free up your digital TN as well, if you don't have a physical phone attached to it.

Dabble, that's exactly what I would like to do, they have had me setup a number of phones the normal way; so I would definetly like to free up some some of my TNs which I am running low on. I just tried it but I think I am making a mess over here. Can you point me to where I might find instructions on how to do this?

No problem. To use the same DN (x6318) you would have to delete the TN it is assigned to first, before the next step.

Then, go to LD 23

Awesome! It worked like a charm and thank you everyone for you input.

Ok, this is my fault, I forgot one important detail, extension 6318, when being dialed from outside is 212-610-6318, when dialing it within the company it works fine, but if I dial from outside it doesn't.

Did you have it listed in your IDC table (LD 49).

Just a note for future, there are several ways to forward. By a normal set call forward, Dummy ACD, DCFW via a phantom.

Have you tried using PCA (if your switch is set up for it). Works like a charm and the user can turn it on or off at their convience. Lot easier than messing with the phone all the time.
