Hey guy's, I have been searching around and can't find anything, figured I'd ask the pro's. Is there any 3rd party software, or procomm scripts that I can run to back up a 61c to my laptop and then restore when needed. We have a 61c running on one core, and that core does not do a backup,(long story) last back up was..oh..a couple of years ago. So, before it blows up and I lose most of my data, I wanted to have this option available. I already backed it up to OTM, not sure if this is actually going to do what I need when the time comes though..?

Thanks

The question I have is the type of Option 61 system?. I'm assuming that it uses floppy disks?. Have you got ELAN IP access?. If so, then I'd think about setting up a data call/link and use a FTP program such as filezilla etc to get onto the call server.

I've done a guide for the later CPPM cards, but the process is almost the same, except that good old FTP is only needed and not SFTP as is required for Linux platforms.

You would just need to get into "pdt" and navigate to e.g. cd /f0. From there just drag all the files onto your computer for safe storage.

Hi, thanks for the reply. This is on IOU/DC cards, I think it's rls 25.40, there is no elan setup. So do you think the ftp will still work without an elan?

You really do need the ELAN connected in order to get it to work. Your only other option is to access the site via a modem using X Modem and go into "pdt".

Either navigate to e.g. cd /u/db or cd /f0 etc.
I would get a copy of the database.rec and Config.rec files. Those two are the most important ones.

Any other ones such as zone.db would be a bonus for you.
