External access to distribution list

Hi

System Summary: GroupWise 6.5.6 running on NetWare 6.5

I'd like to set up a distribution list for e-mail alert purposes. I've created a distribution list and added the users. It works great internally when I send an e-mail to it, but not externally. The program wanting to send to this address connects to the GWIA, but I see the message "recipient unknown" in the GWIA logs.

Is there a permissions setting I have missed? Is it possible to do this?

Found it!

In ConsoleOne, the GWIA, SMTP tab. I should have enabled "Expand Groups on Incoming messages" under Address Handling
