I have 2 sites A and B, in site A i have S8300/G450 and Site B i have S8300/G450 LSP. On site B i have tieline with a nortel pbx via E1. I dont avaya extensions in Site B, just pure nortel extensions.

Now my boss wants me to check if is it possible to call those nortel extensions if my WAN fail link from site A to B by dialing the same extension numbers. Its like no matter what, i can call those nortel extension by dialing its extension numbers only. There is no ISDN terminated on the S8300/G450 LSP in site B. Only Nortel has.

I saw this feature when i do "disp dial para":

Retry ARS/AAR Analysis If All-Location Entry Inaccessible? n

Let say if ext to ext calling cannot be performed, the pbx will look for alternate path to reach those nortel extension via ARS.

I'm also looking for IGAR but dont know where to start.

Of course you can.

You just need to do some digit modifications on the links that would be considered secondary paths if the WAN was unavailable. You'd do that in the route pattern that manages your extension to extension calls.

Here's one of mine.

display route-pattern 231 Page 1 of 3
Pattern Number: 231 Pattern Name: 8 to 305-908
SCCAN? n Secure SIP? n
Grp FRL NPA Pfx Hop Toll No. Inserted DCS/ IXC
No Mrk Lmt List Del Digits QSIG
Dgts Intw

2: 16 0 200 3 91305908 n user

In my example, on the first route choice, I strip off the 3 digit aar code, and add an 8 to dial the distant end. In the second choice, if the primary route were unavailable, it would strip off the aar code, and add the full DID number (with an ARS code, 9), routing it over my PSTN trunk group.

That's pretty much all you have to do. It will be totally automatic. If the WAN link fails, it will build out the extension, and have it route through the PSTN. When the WAN link is restored, it will automatically start using the WAN link as a first choice.

Don't ask me how to set this up at the Nortel end. :)

Carpe dialem! (Seize the line!)

I dont think this will work. Because the G450 in site B has the only link to the Nortel PBX.

I need to do know how will stations in Site A to dial Nortel extension without dialing the full DID digits.

Its like nothing happen (even though WAN fail links) for the feature: Retry ARS/AAR Analysis If All-Location Entry Inaccessible? n --- i dont know how will this work.

Please refer to documentation of IGAR. The description of the solution you are asking fits to the IGAR's description. Just make sure that your E1 is an ISDN pri and you are good to go.
