Hi All,
I have an IP office that extension 353 and 415 would like to swap locations.
I have went into extensions and changed 415 to 419.
Then I changed 353 to 415.
Went back to 419 and changed it to 353.
I have merged the changes but everything remained the same.
Am I missing something.

If you are on release 4.2 or higher after you change the extension numbers and merge in manager just go to each extension and dial *36. It will log them out / back in with the new extension number.

Why reboot??
After this procedure the old user are logged in at the new extensions. Just log off and back again. I suppose you have digital terminals. So, dial *36 to logoff and then log on again with *35*extn*. Maybe you need to give them a login code first which you can clear afterwards.

Or clear the extensions number, merge, and put the swapped numbers in, merge again.

If you can get away with a reboot, it is quicker than walking to each phone to log in/out.

There are otherways around this issue, but not easy to describe on here.

There is also a lot to be said for just re-patching the cab (digital) or swapping handsets (IP) :)

Not that I swap handsets, it's for people who are not capable of dialling properly never mind logging off/on IP sets :)
