Extension 'SMTP' could not be loaded

Hi Everyone

Every time I go into the internet mail service on my Win2k, Exchange 5.5 server, I get the following error:-

Extension 'SMTP' could not be loaded

A Problem occurred with the extension .dll file, possiably due to memory shortage. Close some applications or windows and try gain

Microsoft Exchange Administrator
ID no: C10312c6

If you then click ignore you can go in but you cannot see any of the queues or access any diagnostic logging.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello,

Were having the same Issue, I heard someone mention that I may need to reapply Exchange SP4 or run an off-line defrag of the priv and pub databases. I havent been able to take the server down to try it yet but but will as soon as I can.

Our is working now, If i remenber correctly it was directly related to the permissions in the exchsrvr\ADD-INS folder.
