Hi All,

I have a new boss and he has 2 offices he asked me if I can make each phone ring on each location. loc1 ring on location2 and vice verse. Key system doesn't work and my vendor told it can be done but it has been more than 2 months since he offer to help me. Can somebody guide me on what I need to do.

thanks,

If you dont have PRG's yet and the phones are located on different systems you will need to put a DSS/BLF apperance of number A on Phone B and visa versa, set it to ring cont.(You will also need to set up remote BLF, see help files)
If they are on the same system you can use multicall key

Assuming Mitel 3300
Assumming Current Software
Assuming Multiple Controllers

****** Please Provide above next time ******

Boycee9's suggestion is the best so far that will work assuming my assumptions are correct.

I do not believe PRG's will work between controllers
Multicalls and Keylines will not work between controllers

Alternatively, if you have external hotdesk licenses, you can create a PRG with an EHDU that dials the remote phone in each case.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

For PRG's to work between 3300's you would need to use an External hot desk license and create the EHD extension that rings the other phone. Then it works.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

Making another assumption here, but are the offices networked at all? If you did not have EHD licenses but have the 3300's networked, the key assignment would still be an option as you could program that specific user's phone to its home 3300.

@ serferx0 - Key assignments do not work between contollers. If you are talking about registering both phones to the same controller you would be creating other issues.

BLF key or EHDU.

What issues might it create? It would be good to know, in case a business case needs to be made for additional EHD licenses.

I've had to do this with a specific user who could potentially be in 3 different offices as well as having a teleworker phone at home using the MBG and wants his primary extension/phone number to just ring wherever he is without any intervention on his part.

Currently his multicall extension is a key assignment on all his other phones and has been using it this way for awhile. I would have liked to use PRG but 2 of his phones are on the subnet of a different controller. The phones on the different subnet were given a manual network parameter for the ICP IP Adress.

Any reason phones have to ring at both locations at once? He have an admin assistant in both locations?

Simpliest and cheapest solution to me if you have clustered systems is to create the user as a hotdesk profile and allow him to log when he is at any of the sites. Only issue to me is 911.

We've been the BLF route. It kind of works but there is a significant delay benween onset of local ringing and remote ringing. Similarly, the remote ring will continue at least 1 ring cycle after the caller has hung up.

Sorry guys I wrote the email in a hurry as I was leaving the country.
both system are:
3300 Relese 4.1 SP2
Call control relink 40.1.2.10_SP1
Mxe

I think we try DSS/BLF but it didn't work. I will try it again, I don't think he is going to buy another license for hotdesk as he is not that often in that office.

thanks all for your suggestions I will try the one's that I can and let you know.
