Extension renumbers to DID

We have a Merlin Magix system since last November. All extensions were checked for proper extension number. Approx 4 months ago we got DID's that are applied through a routing table by stripping off the first 2 digits (22) and adding 2 different digits (55). One unused extension has since appeared to renumber itself to it's DID number (extension was 2226 is now 5526-the DID number). I assume that I will need to renumber that extension back to 2226. Any ideas on how that happened? And is renumbering the way to get back the 2226 extension. The phone works otherwise.

yes renumbering is the way to do it. why did it re# it self

Merlinman, yep, its my system. If you remember us messing with that one number you are 'a better man than I' (true gender not withstanding). But it is entirely possible and that would answer the question. Thank you for your good memory. Thanks again for all of your help.
