Hello ...

what will solved the "Extension in use # to register". on Avaya IPO Phones 1616 & 1608.

You have a DS or analog port assigned the extension number you want to use for the IP set.
 
Or it is already active on a different phone.

@TouchToneTommy: The H.323 extension created for the User
@Pepp77: Not active on a different phone.
 
then follow the on screen prompts & re-register the handset



Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
 
I reset it to factory default but the same results

yes, after it press cancel and the phone back again to it's extension
but why when reboot the phone or the IPO this occurs.

Check System Status, is the base extension the same as the user extension?

Or they above should not apply in this case.

Check Sytem Status before you login, some other phone should alrady be using that extension.

delete extension, save, create extension, save.
