Hi,

I extended a windows 2003 partition with diskpart.
In the disk manager, the disk is extended but in the windows explorer the size did not change !

Could you help me ?

Many thanks in advance.
Regards.

Did you also extend the volume (eg C:) to utilise the extra diskspace on the partition?

thanks to answer so quickly ...

No,

The volume which were extended is a SAN VOLUME only for datas (E:\)

The original size was 200 Gb, the new one is 300 gb.

Many thanks for you help.

Hmm not done it on a SAN but with local storage after expanding a RAID array running diskpart is enough to get the new space recognised in Windows. Might be worth trying a reboot, shouldn't be needed but worth a try.

I have had this once.. I had to run a check disk on the volume to make sure it was clean, I then used diskpart again, to make it smaller again. I then repeate dthe process to make it bigger and bingo it worked fine....
