Hi All
I turned off a G3si V11 the other day to move to a new location, it was transported to the other site, when i turned her back on again I have a major alarm EXT-DEV, which i think means external device, such as BCMS,CMS ect. I have bcms for it but not yet connected, also I now have a minor alarm saying DS1 no synch, in shelf E, which it never had, i cant remove it in change circuit, what do u reckon is going on?
TIA

it could also be that you didnt re connect whatever was on the AUX cable last pair, usually a UPS

if you have maintenance permissions, try entering "test eda-external-device-alarm all" it should tell you what external devices should be wired. Or maybe just enter "display eda"
As far as the DS1 alarm if its giving you a board location, try entering "remove ds1 (board Loc)" That should resolve alarm.

Thanks Guys, how do i dissble this alarm as i have nothing to connect to the Aux cable now.

you can't disable it per say. display system customer options, is the EDA option a yes?

Hi rgtrgt it is set to yes, anything i can do to get rid of the major alarm on it, thanks mate

if you put the aux cable back on & test ala l c it should go away. the aux connects the alarms to the maint board/proc so by removing it you caused either an open or most likley a short which is why the alarm is there.

Thanks Rgtrgt, can i just put a normal amphenol cable on, do i need to connect it to anything or just leave it unterminated

you can try both, if you connect it would go to the back of the processor card
