I have an end user that is trying to open a Expression Transformation in Informatica Designer and then trying to edit the statement in the expression editor, the editor window doesn't show up the box to edit though the statement is present in the editor. If i reinstall informatica again it will work and then after few attempts the same problem is coming up.

He is running v. 7.1.3 on windows xp pro.

thanks

If the transformation is a reusable one, then editing it within a mapping is not possible. You can then only modify it in transformation designer..

The Expression Transformation is not a reusable one.The expression editor window doesn't display all the contents of the editor it show's up as blank though the content is there. Is it something to do with library files, got corrupted as the same transformation can be edited properly in other systems.

In older INFA clients .ini files had a tendency to break, but with version 7 I never , ever had any problems. I'd suspect the problem is rather with the combination of the OS and the machine than with the INFA client..

If someone else has it locked (editing), then you cannot change/edit.

If you have version control, then you cant change if it is checked-in.
