Hi,

I have Pagemaker 7.0, Acorabat Reader & Distiller 5.0 and also 3.0

When I export to PDF some images are being cropped ie: half of them is not visible in the finished pdf.

Please check it out on
Thanks

Mario - I removed the clipart link because it was using about half of my free space on the web server where I store images for forums - and no-one looked at this thread for about 3 weeks after I posted it, so I removed it.

I will put it back up...

(545 KB)

Right click and save it to your computer before opening it in Acrobat.

I will leave it for another week i.e. until November 12. Same offer applies as in my post of October 12

Hi.
I downloaded your file. Lovely cliparts. I have corel draw 7 but these pics aren`t there. Yes I would like to have a copy of these and if you have any more. How shall we go about them. Any version will do; jpg, tiff, wmf, or corel format. Would you prefer email or shall I send you a blank cd with a self addressed envelope?

Re: 3 weeks without any posting in this thread. I know and I am sorry, I was so busy preparing the handbook and preparing for tomorrow's weddings fair that I had not even a minute to log in the internet.

Thanking you once again

Mario

Mario

I am very wary about publishing my real email address. I have had a huge problem with 100s and 100s of spam and only now am getting it under control. However, if you send me an email with the subject line as wedding clipart to sp1keandme_@_yahoo_dot_com_dot_au (remove all the underscores and replace the word 'dot' with you know what) with YOUR email address in the body of the email, we'll see what we can work out, OK?

Got your email and I am going to send you the clipart in the original CDR format as they are the smallest. I will send them in two separate emails in case your ISP sets limits on attachment size.

I am going to remove the clipart PDF tonight (Saturday 9 Nov).

My problem is in exporting PM 6.5 files to PDF when I have pasted an MS Excel pie chart into the PM document. When it is exported into PDF, only half the pie chart appears and in B&W, not the colours of the original Excel chart. Does anyone know whether there is something I should do when pasting the chart into PM? Or any other suggestions?

The problem lies with PASTING the Excel chart into PM. You should never paste any graphics into PM, especially if it is to be converted to a PDF. Far better to use File>Place.

However, to get Excel charts into PM, I use the following method:

(1) save the Excel chart as a PDF (use Distiller as your printer).

(2) use File>Place to get the chart into PM.

If your version of PM will not accept PDFs, then there is an import filter available on the adobe website (I will see if I can find a link).

You will encounter another problem if the final PM file is to be commercially printed. The Excel PDF will be in RGB mode and needs to be converted to CMYK. This can be done by OPENING the PDF in Illustrator. You may need to ungroup the chart first but it wil be fully editable. You can click on each coloured area and convert to CMYK (or even a spot colour if that's what you want). Add anything else you want in AI and save it either as an EPS (which will get around the lack of the import filter) or as a PDF, either of which you should use File>Place to get it into PM. Note that EPS graphics will print well only on a postscript printer.
