Hello,

I have exported to PDF over 20 times and decided to ask for some assistance before I throw my computer out the window :(

I have indesign 2.0.2 and I am trying to export to PDF with a Universal condensed font. When I do so the document comes out perfectly except when an "fl" are part of a word, they are extracted from the document. Strange that everything else works perfectly but not these two letters next to one another.

Your assistance is deeply appreciated,

Andy

You did not say what OS you use and that can effect possible solutions. The most common cause is a corrupted font file or cache.

If you use Mac, the moct common problem would be a corrupted font cache for that font. To fix, quit all Adobe apps and search, in Finder, for "Adobefnt" - without the quotes and using Name Contains as the search parameter. Some of the results will have "07" in them. Trash everything that comes up with the ".lst" extension. Don't trash anything else. The see if things work.

You could also have a faulty font - in either Windows or Mac. You might try moving the present font folder to trash and loading in a new copy of the font.

It looks like it's extracting ligatures. Try turning your ligatures off.

Thanks for your efforts. I am using a PC and I tried to install and reinstall the font. unfortunately I continue to run into the same problem. it is strange that it is only the "fl" combination of letters that goes missing. If you have any other suggestions them I am very appreciative.

Search this forum for "cache". I believe that I saw a post once about Adobe caches in Windows but not sure.

Also preflight your ID doc - File menu - and see if it gives you any font woarnings.
