I am drawing shapes in illustrator and then exporting to a dwg file so I can open it up in AutoCad. When I open it in AutoCad it upscales the shape. ie, i draw a 24" square in Ill. it opens in Cad as a 50" square. I have found out that the conversion happening is 1 mm = 1" so it acts as tho its metric and scaling it up to inches. I always draw in illustrator with inch dimensions. How do I reset the scale in my defaults or prevent this conversion from happening. I appreciate any suggestions as I am now bald from pulling my hair out.

I'm assuming you have Unit prefs in AI set to inches. Do you have AutoCad also set to inches?

If yes, only thing I can think of is that you might have the wrong version of AC selected in the dwg export window.

I've received dwgs but have no experience with autocad itself. If AC has it, try the Place command and see if that helps.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

I did have them set on inches. I am exporting to the right AC version 2000LT. I will try the place command.
Thank you for your help
