Hi all,

Crystal Reports 2008 + Oracle

I need to be able to export fields that are not shown in my report. Any tips on how I can do this ?
I have tried to suppress the field, but then it (of course ) does not show either on the report or in the excel-export.
I also tried to set the font color to white - this works, but I imagine that there must be a more elegant way of doing this ?

Thanks!

Why can you not simply display the field in the report? It will export fine then.

Software Sales, Training, Implementation and Support for Macola, Synergy, and Crystal Reports. Check out our Macola tools:

That is ofcourse possible, but the customer who ordered the report don't want it displayed - only exported.

I suggest you do two versions of the printed report, one with the extra fields and one without. That will let you distribute a printed report without the fields and do an export with them.

If it's a matter of not wanting anyone to see those fields, you could add a bitof security, e.g. you only get the extra fields if you enter one particular value, a kind of password. (Though anyone who can code their own Crystal could find it.)

Does this help?

Thanks Madawc - that is probably the best solution.
I can also suppress the columns based on a parameter which tells if the user wants to export the report or not.

Thanks for taking the time guys - dgillz and Madawc
