hi,
i've made an background for my site in illustrator, i have an head, an footer, and the part between it has to be repeat from the head until the foot.
now i draw and square around the head, and make a cutting mask (I have an dutch illustrator, so it can be that the tool is called diferent in english, but its the option to mark the part of the drawing to export). after i made the cutting mask, i save the image as an jpg, with the heighest quality and such. the i say i dont want an cutting mask anymore, so my square is back, then i dont move the square, and dont change the width. i only chanche the height to a part under the head, wat has to be the background, i make an cutting mask again, and export in to a jpg, with the same, heighest options, as how i saved the head.
when i open it i see something i dont want. at the left and right side of the header and background, is a passage from the yellow part, wich is in the middle of the image, and the black part, wich is on the outside. it has to be an sharp line, but becouse the plase of the passage is not exact at the place of where one pixel begins, and the other pixel ends, he makes an one pixel whide grey line.
in fact its not so bad, i think its even smoother, so i like it, but, at one image he do it on the left side, on an other image he do it on the right side, and at an other image its on both sides. so when i make a table, i set the images as an background, the sides of the images dont match eathother, there is an serrated side at the place where one image ends and the nexts begins.
i have tried it in gif also, the same problem, and also to choice the option to use it as an background image (at the place where i have to type the name for saving), it all dont help.
Who know how i have to do this to make a traight line at the sides?
(if someone dutch read this, please answer in dutch also then so i can better understand it.)
Bart
