I need to export fixed length data into a text file where the width of each record is greater then 256 charachters.

I'm sorry I don't think I can help you but maybe you could help me

I created a report with only one formula on it and I put the formula field as far left as Crystal will let me. With the intention of exporting the report into a file. My problem is that it puts one leading space. I have changed the left margin to zero but it will still do it. A second problem I have is that even when the formula pads spaces at the end of the report. they are not exported.

I would very much appreciate any help

Crystal supports Memo and Blob fields for display...if you want to manipulate the fields in a formula you are out of luck though.

I think I got a solution to your first problem!Try creating a local generic printer and use it in you report. It will allow you to set the left margin to zero and export the report to a word doc without the leading space. It will put garbage characters at the beginning and the end of the file, but you can manually delete those.Good luck!
