Exporting from Outlook to Act possible? 1

Hi,

I was wondering if Exporting from Outlook to Act is possible?

I looked in the help files, and I think I read that it is not possible - am I correct?

I am not sure that Act! will import Outlook contacts directly. However, you can export your Outlook contacts to Excel. Then export at least one Act! contact to a text file. Then compare the headings in each to prepare the Excel file which you will save as a text (tab-delimited) file for import into Act!

Hello masie2006,
bkpchs237 is correct. ACT! cannot directly import Outlook contact data. You will have to:
1. Export Contact data out of Outlook. File select Import and Export then the next step of the Wizard select Export to a File and select Text (Tab delimited)
2. Go through the rest of the Wizard
3. Import the Text file into Excel and do whatever data clean up is necessary.
4. While in Excel make sure you change the column headers to match field names in ACT!. This will make data importing much easier.

If you "Find a Forum" and type ACT you will find two forums specifically for ACT!.

Give them a tour.
