Exporting For DVD

i have adobe premiere 6.5 and whenever i export to make a dvd and then put it on a dvd with a diffrent program, i watch it in my dvd player and the video is too big for the t.v. screen. it isnt ridiculously too big but it defitnly cuts alot off on the sides and top. i export timeline < movie<settings< and i export as microsoft dv avi the frame size is 720x480 the compressor is microsoft dv (ntsc) frame rate is 29.97. any help would be awesome thanks
 
All TVs cut off the edge of the picture that you can see fully on the computer. Is this what you are talking about? If so, that is the way things are and you have to move things like titles inside the safe areas to make sure they will be visible.
 
So there is no way to watch a DVD so that you can see the whole video?
 
Not on a TV.

If you wtach on a plasma or LCD TV, you may see a bit more than on a CRT TV.

If you watch on a computer, you will see the complete image right to the edges.

Don't put important things near the edge.
