I'm doing an export for the databases to another sql server each 2 hours starting from 8am to 3pm.

Is this slow down the performance of the sql server or causing any problem ?.

Note: I'm using sql server2000

Thanks for any comment

Have you noticed any performance problems? Did any of the users complain when you export?

It all depends on a mixture of the number of users, the power of the hardware and how well your application is written. If you have a lot of queries that do entire table scans and the tables are large enough, then you may experience some performance problems ..

If you provide more info on your installation, then you may get more out of this discussion group ...

Good luck

One way you could objectively analyze the impact of the export is to look at the length of time that it takes the job step to complete.

What exactly you meant when you said "Export a Database" can you provide more info on what actually you're doing and whant to accomplish with it? AL Almeida
