Exporting Data that includes Extension and MAC Address 2

I tried to do a search on the topic, but was not able to come up with a result.
I bet someone has asked this before and I'm asking the questions improperly

Is there a way to export from Avaya ASA a report of some sort that provides the MAC address to the phone device and the extension assigned?

Not easily and directly. You can export a list of registered IP phones with their IPs and figure out how in the data network to link that up with ARP tables or you can turn on SNMP and snmpget that parameter from the phones.

In any even, it is not trivial!

Yeah, that's kind of the hard part.

It's less telecom stuff and more sysadmin stuff that requires a little background in scripting.

Say you, in GEDI, did a "list registered" and exported to CSV and picked the column of the IP address of the phones and played with snmpget to find the OIDs you wanted for MAC/serial/firmware, it would just be a matter of running that string once for each IP in the list.

You can do it quick, dirty and simple or more complicated depending on your use case, but it takes some playing around with bash, perl, python, vb or whatever else you get comfortable with.

Years later, I'm still trying to figure it out.
